April 2004 edition of Outdoor Life Magazine
Gunner is a superb looking dog! He is smart, broad chested & muscular, good noise, very pretty dark fox red color with an easy going temperament. Gunner is a fine example of the breed, color, and temperament that we are looking to pass along in his line. He has already thrown some GREAT puppies!

- GUNNER & DIANA RED FOX LABRADOR BREEDING GOALS -
Gunner is owned by Chaplain (Colonel) David Peterson, Ret. who lives on his farm in Sturgis, South Dakota. The folks at Innishfree have had the sincere honor of working with Dave when we assisted in placing a Yoni litter. Dave is a very nice man who served his country with honor and distinction. Since his retirement in 1995 Dave
has been developing his game rich hunting land near Lemmon South Dakota. After many successful hunting trips folks stated asking for pups from Yanika and after searching Dave found a suitable sire in Gunner a Helm's Point Doctor puppy. After seeing his dogs we were equally impressed with these high quality Red Lab hunting dogs and have added Gunner to our breeding program.
Gunner Signature Point "Gunner" and Goddess of the Hunt II "Diana" are both built to be strong smooth runners. Both dogs are decendents of Helm's Point Doctor who was known for his smooth gait and his ability to trot faster then most hunting labs can gallop. Both Gunner and Diana have been bred to produce long legs for increased endurance and ability to get through thick cover in the field. Both dogs are above average intelligence and have that sweet loving disposition that continues to make Labradors the most popular dog breed around. Both are natural pointers that also have the RARE "Fox Red" yellow color variation that is very unique and distinctive for those that want something unique and special in their next dog. Strong hunting drive, smooth gait, endurance in the field, sweet loving disposition, and a natural point are the goals Innishfree Puppies has for this litter and all of our labrador pups.
From what we are hearing back from our puppy owners we are certainly hitting the mark!

4 week old Diana Puppies
Starting on solid food this week and have started going outside for short periods of time.
From 3-4 weeks your puppy begins the most critical social development period of his life – he learns social interaction with his littermates, learns how to play and learns bite inhibition. He’ll also learn discipline at this point – Mom will begin weaning the pups around this time, and will start teaching them basic manners, including accepting her as the leader of the pack. Puppy mush has been introduced to the pups this week and the transition to solid food will continue as Mom gradually weans them.

IMPORTANT PAYMENT REMINDER - It's hard to believe that the pups are already at the halfway point to going to their new homes. As a reminder to thoses folks with deposits down payment is to be made in full before your pup leaves. To insure that everything clears and goes smoothly we strongly suggest that final payments be made by 6 weeks.

3 week old Diana Puppies
Such a FUN & exciting time as your pup learns, grows and is busy exploring their world!
This is the almost ready to meet the world stage for your puppy. From 3 to about 4 weeks your puppy will undergo rapid sensory development. Puppy teeth will begin to erupt and his sense of smell develps. Fully alert to his environment your pup will begin to stand up and walk around as he starts to play with his littermates.

2 week old Diana Puppies
Much more then just a pretty Labrador Retriever puppy!
During this week your puppies eyes and ears will open and he’ll slowly start to respond to light and movement and sounds around him. He’ll become a little more mobile during this period, trying to get his feet underneath him and crawling around in the whelping box. Considered the Transitional or "toddler" stage from 2 - 3 weeks of development as the puppy becomes more alert and learns to crawl, stand, and ultimately walk.
