Linda,
Haven’t sent a picture in some time, as you can see he has grown up. Rocky is doing great and I am anxious for us to go hunting together this fall. He definitely has a nose for the birds and all the pheasants he has been on got up within shooting distance.

| I just wanted to give you an update on Sam (Spring 2008 Libby litter - Lt. Blue collar). She is doing great! It took her a few nights to adjust to our schedule but is now sleeping in until 7am. She is growing so fast! Loves the water but not the hose. Is very easy to train. Already knows sit, stay, paw and high five. We are working on rolling over. She is still on a leash at all times when out of the crate. Is doing excellent at housebreaking. Hasn’t had a accident in over a week. (knock on wood) - Rebecca |

| Linda - I wanted you to know that Tink (Libby 2007 litter) which I renamed Ruby is doing great. I took her and Lucky to the park this morning for running and swimming as I do everyday and left them in my 3,000 square foot pen with the neighbors dog and they were all playing when I left to go to work. While I am reading the paper in the morning she runs upstairs and gets one of her toys and puts her front paws in my lap and chews and then licks me on the neck. I will be going home aroud 5 for another trip to park. Upon return I dry them off, Ruby runs straight to the food, eats, then straight to her bed next to my TV chair. She is a great dog! Sweet as Lucky. Thanks - Rick |

Attached are some shots of Indy (2007 litter), I know it has been awhile but retail during the Holidays keeps us busy. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years. Indy is doing well, Blu is getting used to the idea of a puppy around the house. By the way Indy's official name will be "Kelly's Sir Indiana Bones". Let me know what you think
Best Wishes

We put the carrier in the back of the truck and Foxey got in the front seat with me. I had pulled the other seat out and put down a 4 inch memory foam under a silky red comforter and on the top of all that was my thick wool cape. After everyone made their goodbyes we started off for home.
After about 5 minutes and my taking the phone charger from her mouth, a pen, a bag of cookies and numerous other objects, and scooting her back to her area from the dashboard, I thought, just give me until I can pull over, she has got to go in her crate. No sooner had that thought came than she streched out and fell sound asleep. She continued to sleep until we were a little over 2 miles from home in which she rose from her dreams and began sniffing the air and pressing her nose to the passenger side of the window. She continued this activity until we arrived home. I got out of the truck and went into the house and she has been perfect! I love her with a passion!
I slept in the chair next to her crate and we both got up late.
Thank you so much Linda! I am so happy with her (Foxy 2007 litter) and she is absolutely gorgeous!
Update 12/31/07
She has grown about a foot in height and length in just a few weeks and is going to be a big girl. She will blend in nicely with the other two big girls. It is funny how people put tags on animals - I have the two Rotties but they are as gentle as a lamb. Foxy barks and snarls more than they do. She does not like strangers and will not come out of her crate if someone new is here and tries to get her out. She is no longer confined to the crate - it is open and she goes in to take her little cat naps. She is nearly potty trained and goes to the door and cries so I can let her out. She is a real smart little girl.
Update 01/21/08
Thought I would update you on Foxy. First, I need to change my choice of words; she is not wild but a real energizer puppy. She doesn't eat the furniture and tear up my clothes like the Little Bit did when she was little, and doesn't eat the corner of the furniture or door frames. She is just about perfect or pretty close to being so.

Hello Everyone,
When I was attending Triple Crown School for Dog Trainers in Texas, I was assigned a Red Lab rescue dog to train. His name was Tiago and I thought he was a great dog.
I wanted to raise another dog from a puppy and I began to research Red Labs as well as Border Collies. I found a great line of dogs out of South Dakota - Innishfree and the rest is history. My new puppy flew into Norfolk on Wednesday night (11/28/07).
Cody, my 12-1/2 year old Red Male Dobe, Delta, my 5-1/2 year old Black Female Dobe, are accepting him well and teaching him the way of our house hold. Cody has not engaged him in play yet, but Delta is having lots of fun with him.
I have not named him yet, but I am thinking his name will be "Rider".

Linda,
We changed his (Gunnar's) name to Jake, and as you can see from the pictures he has made himself right at home. He has such a great disposition and cute personality we enjoy him more every day.
Thanks,
Tracy & Bridgette
In Response to a request to email a potential buyer who was hesitant to purchase a puppy over the internet:
I understand your hesitancy as I had the same feelings. We asked for a mild tempered lab, the 2nd to 3rd largest in the litter as I have a 2.5 year old daughter and 4 month old son. Jake, our male, is a delight and with lab puppies, that can be hard to say the 1st few months (sometime years). He is getting the paper every morning, sitting on command and laying down about 80% on command. My puppy arrived on time (in a nice crate w/ food and water) and in good health (took to the vet that day). - Tracy

In Response to a request to email a potential buyer who was hesitant to purchase a puppy over the internet:
I only have good things to say about my new puppy. He is showing that he is very intelligent, easy to potty break, figured out how to open the door between the house and garage and has become very willing to play and explore on his own. I introduced him to a dead pheasant and it didn’t take but a couple of minutes before he had it in his mouth. I have also noticed his great smelling capability. I have high hopes for Rocky that he will be a great companion and hunting partner. I found the Kelly’s to be very nice people and have already recommended them to my boss. - Pat 2007

I wanted to send you a picture and an update on Buddy / Tigger. I entered him in his first Junior Hunt test this past weekend and he received a qualifying score. He was one of the youngest dogs out of the 42 entries. I will be flying him to your neck of the woods next month for the Pheasant opener in Gregory SD and look forward to hunting over him for the first time. He is quite the dog with amazing drive yet he is so calm and kindhearted around the house. - Mark |

She sure is a sweety! We went to puppy school Friday. Foxy did better than I did. She is very, very smart. - Helen

| After telling Mark about the 3 other hunters that wanted Tigger / Buddy after I had already sold him to Mark this is the reply I got back. - Linda Kelly
"I think I know why. He is an amazing dog. His retrieving is unbelievable I paid hundres of dollars to have my other dog forced fetch and Tigger is already much better. He finally barked when he saw himself in a reflection." - Mark

I wanted to send this Picture of Buddy (Tigger - 2006) I took him to a trainer in Idaho today and he was amazed how birdie he is. He said he is the best Lab he has ever trained and had high compliments for the breeder.
Buddy is very happy and such a well mannered dog. - Mark

Here is a picture from opening day of the three pups and their grand adventure. From left to right, myself with Doc, Bob and Lady, and Dennis (Bob's son) and Emma.
We ended up with 12 pheasants that weekend!
Lady did a great job with her nose to the ground. As a side note, her coat is silky soft, unlike other labs I've seen. Needless to say, Bob has fallen in love!! - Brian.

I found your website on the Internet and I am just amazed at these dogs. The reason I was looking was because we rescued one of these dogs and I wanted to share my story with you folks as I have never been happier with a breed of dog before as I have with this one. I know we will be getting another one not far down the road.
My husband heard from a friend of his that his co-worker had a dog that they wanted to get rid of or they were going to put him to sleep. We at the time had 2 dogs having lost one last year. Me being the sap that I am, decided to call this lady to get the dog. After much disappointment, she decided that she was going to keep him so we thought nothing about it. 3 days before Christmas, she calls me and tells me to get the dog this week or she was going to have him put down. I drove 75 miles from my home in Illinois to Charleston Indiana to pick up this dog who I never even saw a picture of.
When I got there, he was filthy, stinky and wet. They kept him outside in a kennel all the time. He was cold and very skinny. I immediately fell in love with him. I brought him home, gave him a bath which he totally disliked, fed him and took him to the vet. Other than being a little underweight, he was healthy and beautiful.
I only later found out that Charlie was a Fox Red Lab pointer. I have never had such a dog with a personality like this one. He is amazing. My husband took him out for a practice hunt and he was just incredible. He has such a wonderful disposition with my boys and I could not ask for a better dog. He was 9 months old when we got him and I believe he is about 18 months now.
I am amazed at the care you take with your dogs and wanted you to know that we will probably be contacting you in the future for another one once we get out of the puppy stage. I have recently lost my Dalmatian of 13 years in July and I was just heartbroken. So, now we have Charlie and my yellow lab.
Thank you for letting me share my story with you. Hope to contact you in the future regarding a puppy. - Ginny |
Cody (2006) went to the beach today for the first time. Once he got used to the sound of the waves he was pretty fearless. - Phil and Laurel

Hello Linda & Family,
I will try to get some pictures of Fuego (Black 2005) to you. But I thought that I would give you an update on the pup. He is one of the biggest puppies I have seen. He is long and lanky. Much more so than any lab I have seen. He is very energetic and happy. He will dive completely under the surface of our swimming pool when he is diving for something. I took him on a few dove hunts and he did OK. Nothing really spectacular but they were his first hunts and very few labs really enjoy doves. This last weekend I took him to my home in Utah for the opener of the duck hunt. Again, he did OK but it was all new and he is still a pup. He did find a duck that my nephew shot. This was spectacular. The retrieve was two or three hours old and buried in the weeds, not to mention blind. But he found it, turns out it was my nephews first duck. I stayed there for a week. The weather was not good for duck hunting so I took him Grouse hunting. Wow! It was like he had done this a hundred times! The first bird he did not really want to retrieve. As I continued on I noticed he was smelling something. I gave him some encouragement and he went with it. He followed the sent a hundred yards up the hill and flushed the grouse, it flew over me and I shot it. He did a little better retrieving it. Then with some more encouragement he went up and found another one. The rest of the day he flushed and retrieved like a well polished retriever. It was really amazing. Just like that he got it. He figured out how to play the game.
That's all for know but I have a feeling that there will be more to come. - Roland

| UPDATE: Just to let you know that Fred is doing fine.. He has had pheasants chucka , ruffed grouse , Spruce grouse , Sharptails, and ptarmagian shot over him the past year.. His pointing is spotty, put his retrieving and flushing is good.. I know that he will make an excellent dog.. Your quality in your breeding stock shows through your pups.. Keep up the good work.. I am always amazed at this dogs stamina.. Thanks again and Fred is heading up to Northern Quebec to go with me once again on a Caribou hunt.. So he will get a lot more work on ptarmagian, and spruce grouse.. Take care and let the kids know that Fred is getting along great.. By the way his best friend is a young raccoon who thinks that he is a dog. Fred really looks out for this critter and actually mothers it.. Take care ...Tom
